In October 2023, The girl band Say Now released S.I.N.G.L.E.

An empowering anthem about moving on from your ex, and looking back on the relationship with fresh eyes.

‘Stress is now gone, life is easier’.

The label/mgmt asked us to come up with an idea to help give back to their fanbase and the newly single community, so we came up the EX-CHANGE.

Ex-change is based on the insight that most people still have their exes stuff somewhere. A hoodie, boxers, jewellery. These items when we find them hold us back and prevent us from fully moving on.

We want to help single people detox from their ex by taking this off their hands, but also allowing them to cop new threads from someone elses ex. An entirely cashless trading pop up, which is a place for singles to tell us about the garment/why the relationship ended on a clothes tag and to meet and spend time with the band IRL.

Gen Z’s are obsessed with car boots, so our first exchange was at Princess May Car Boot in Stoke Newington early on a Saturday morning. We had people come from all over to share their sad stories, and even got them inside Say Now’s little fiat500 to listen to some unreleased music.

It was the first event in a line of future Ex-change drops, so keep your eyes peeled for the next.
